A dip into capturing life on the streets
What an amazing I trip I just had to Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), Israel! I’m still pinching myself to see if I really was there! I hadn’t been there in oh so many years, and now I am just itching to get on the next plane back! The land, the beauty, the people, the air… it truly is the land where my heart lives.
I was fortunate to be there when the weather was unbelievably beautiful! The mornings and evenings were cool and crisp, and the mid-day hours were comfortable. The air was delicious, the views breathtaking. I had recently been playing a bit with street photography, and was amazed to find endless photographic opportunities every where I turned. Street Photography is Capturing Life Authentically at its best!! This really fit into my “niche” and exploring this was right up my alley! I used a wide angle lens to capture as much of the environment as possible, and feel I was truly successful in capturing a glimpse into what life looks like there.
I will admit that these are a combination of camera and phone pictures, as in some places I was way too self conscious to pull out my camera :) !
Come along with me and hold my hand as I lead you through the streets of present day Yerushalayim…..
Of course one of my very first stops was to the Kosel HaMa’aravi (The Western Wall), the center of the universe, where people of all walks of life come to pray all hours of the day and night.
It truly is a sight to behold!
Buses come constantly with busloads of visitors.
Walking through the streets one is greeted with many building, tunnels, stairwells and curving alleyways, all made of stone and interesting architecture. The hustle and bustle, along with the lines, curves, shapes and colors, all made for some amazing “eye-candy”!
It’s worth a try to pull out your camera and photograph your surroundings, the shapes, lines, colors and textures. You may be pleasantly surprised at the results!
I’ve got loads more but these are just a sampling to whet your appetite for a visit to see for yourself!
